Introducing the Airbnb of the mooring and marina world

by Laiza Garcia on 7 Dec 2016
Looking for a mooring or marina in New Zealand or Australia, or elsewhere in the SW Pacific? Contact the team at Make Fast. Richard Gladwell www.photosport.co.nz
Have you ever struggled to find an available mooring, or do you have a mooring that is sitting vacant?

makefastmooring.com is aiming to solve this problem by connecting boat owners with those with vacant moorings or berths. With a growing number of moorings and marinas in New Zealand, Australia and around the world, makefastmooring.com allows people to find, rent and share moorings and berths.

Owners (marinas, clubs, and private owners) can now simply list their profile and mooring details on our site.

Guests can search by location, connect and engage directly with owners via our platform.

makefastmooring.com securely manages bookings, payments, and notifications to ensure a safe and simple user experience.

Make Fast Mooring's primary goals are to:

• Provide a secure, reliable and simple platform for people to plan their journey and connect with the broader sailing and boating community.

• Improve the commercialisation and optimisation of moorings and berths for clubs, marinas, and private owners. In Australia, there are 850,000 registered boats with 300 marinas and 350 yacht clubs. In New Zealand the total number of boats in the region is estimated to be approximately 132,000, increasing to an estimated 200,000 boats over the next 30 years.

• Create new revenue opportunities for clubs and marinas such as new memberships, berth sales and driving foot traffic for food, beverage and accommodation.

• Drive tourism to support the $1.8b per annum, 8,000 employee boating industry in New Zealand. The boating industry in Australia generated $8b per annum and 28,000 employees in a highly competitive leisure and sports market.
