Two Auckland boatbuilders, Martin Robertson and Robert Warring, have taken on the responsibility of restoring one of the most well known and significant historical yachts ever to sail the Auckland harbour.

She is the 22ft mullet boat Tamariki, built in 1934 and winner of 13 Lipton Cups along with countless other victories in her long racing career.

Under the wily Flap Martinengo Tamariki won the Lipton Cup three times and in one season, Flap entered Tamariki in 27 races, taking the gun 27 times for 25 wins on handicap, a second and a third. With the 100th Lipton Cup coming up in 2021 they felt it appropriate that she be restored to her former race winning glory in time for her to join her for this coming and prestigious Auckland yacht racing event. As two professional boat builders Martin and Robert consider it an honour to have the opportunity to action this project and bring it to a successful conclusion.

Please feel free to pass on the link to your associates and friends and thanks for your interest.

Cheers,

Rob Warring and Martin Robertson

Fortune favours the Beneteaus!
Thank you, Huey… Some sun, and a tad of wind means it is time to go racing... Ahead of the annual Beneteau Pittwater Regatta by Flagstaff Marine the weather had not been all that grand. So, peaks of sun migrating to distinct patches, and the occasional zephyr turning into a waft, then on to a calm breeze was fortunate.
