From humble fishing boat to one of the most recognisable yachts on Auckland Harbour, the Mullet boat has become a part of New Zealand's maritime history.

This free public exhibition on Saturday and Sunday October 8 and 9, 2016 at Viaduct Harbour and Karanga Plaza will showcase the story behind these iconic yachts.

See some of the finest examples of ‘Mulleties’ rafted up. Enjoy informative displays about the boats and the builders and designers responsible for elevating these yachts from ordinary beginnings to cult classics. Mullet boat owners and other classic yacht enthusiasts will be on hand to share their stories and memories of this unique New Zealand yacht.

Designed as work boats to be sailed by a man and a boy the Mullet boats were noted for their beam, shallow draft and sail area.
