With five overseas crews from Australia and 1 from New Caledonia and a couple of additional crews in the wind, the 2016 Pacific Keel Boat Challenge is already shaping up to be another great regatta.

Overseas entries received to date are from:
Dave McKay - Cronulla Sailing Club
Rod Jones – Middle Harbour Yacht Club
Simon Grain – Sandringham Yacht Club
Andy Kearnan – Cruising Yacht Club of Australia
Chris Way – Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club
Jean-Louis Chabaud - Le Cercle Nautique Caledonien

With three spaces still available for overseas crews it’s not too late for your club, class or crew to join the regatta and become the 2016 Pacific Keel Boat Champions.

The regatta is a feature event of NZ’s largest Keel Boat Regatta – the Jack Tar Auckland Regatta and runs from the 17th to the 20th March 2016.

It is a fleet racing event for leading Yacht Clubs from the USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Asia, Australia, the Pacific Islands and New Zealand. The Regatta is organized by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and Bucklands Beach Yacht Club.

The event is sailed in 11 identical Farr 10.2m MRX Yachts each with six crew. There will be one practice day and three race days. Up to 12 windward leeward and harbour course races will be held on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour.

This strict one design racing provides the very best crew vs crew competition! The boats are ready to sail and cannot be altered so all sailors need to bring is an able crew and your sailing Click here for more information or get in touch – mrxyachting@xtra.co.nz - if you’d like to enjoy some great racing and Kiwi sailor hospitality!
