RSHYR - 'Good Santa, Bad Santa' and Start Images By Crosbie Lorimer

TV Financial Advisor Paul Clitheroe always comes up trumps with a memorable quote before leaving the dock for the race to Hobart, and this year was no exception.
So when we asked him this morning him what he made of the weather ahead for the race he replied 'Well there's Good Santa for the first eight hours and he's giving us downwind running which is great, but then along comes Bad Santa with the southerly front. And what I really don't like about Bad Santa is that along with the wind he's doling out rain and thunder!'
Paul was also following his own advice and not putting his money where he wasn't sure of the outcome. Last year he picked the overall winner of Wild Rose before the race; but this year, like most skippers and navigators we spoke to today, he was really uncertain about the likely winner, as the weather after the southerly appears entirely unpredictable. (Look out for Bow Caddy's dockside interviews 'Views of the Crews' tomorrow).
Dale and Crosbie were fortunate enough to be shooting the start from the air today and like most we captured some spectacular big boat imagery. But there was just as much colour and interest to be caught on camera through the rest of the fleet. So here's our 'Not The Big Boat' selection of images from today (well, OK we have thrown in one big boat picture - purely for balance!).
