Local twins to head up 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup - Melbourne

2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup - Melbourne - Ross Wilson and his younger brother (by two hours) Kevin Wilson grew up in Mildura, it was here that these young twin boys learnt to sail on Lake Cullulleraine. From here their love of sailing and dedication to the sport has spanned every corner of the globe. Kevin and Ross are two of the world’s most highly qualified, respected and experienced World Class Race Managers.

Kevin held the position of Race Officer at two Olympic Games, Ross three Olympic Games, three Paralympics ,Youth Olympic Games plus 40+ Grade one events worldwide, not to mention the 100’s of National/State/Club events that they have both been involved in.

Kevin instructed the Qingdao (Beijing Olympic) race officials in the principles of race and event management. This training took place in Melbourne during the Sail Melbourne 2005 Olympic Classes Event at Sandringham Yacht Club. Kevin and Ross are highly regarded by the international sailing fraternity, including the sailors themselves, who appreciate their experience, knowledge and wisdom in the sport.

Both men now live in Beaumauris and are members of Sandringham and Black Rock Yacht Clubs. Ross sits on the ISAF Race Officials committee and Kevin is an ISAF Race Management instructor. Both men are excited and looking forward to managing the racing at the ISAF Sailing World Cup in it’s new format at St Kilda, believing that bringing this sport to the public will bring a new dimension to sailing in Australia.
