Thundering back into Christchurch - 2015 RYA P750 British ThunderCat Racing Championship RYA
2015 RYA P750 British ThunderCat Racing Championship – The ThunderCat Racing British tour is returning to Steamer Point, Christchurch, 29-30 August, for the penultimate rounds.

Teams and their followers will flock to the shores between Christchurch and The Needles, Isle of Wight to compete against each other. The two day event will see over 20 two man teams from across the UK battle through the conditions from 11.30 to 15.30 each day to gain points for the prestigious British RYA Championship title.

Competition is extremely tight; keep an eye out for some of the anticipated front runners - Multispark Racing Products local Lymington boys Bligh Julius and Charles Hatfield and Team Microlink James Tapp and Ed Redman from Chandlers Ford are currently taking the two top spots in the championship. Hot on their heels is a Welsh team - Hoonigan/Ahmad Team in their first year have reached the podium four times and lying third overall. Look on website for the full line up, pick your favourite team and come and support them!

Assisting the growth of both the community and sport at this event are Series sponsors ‘Microlink’ from Chandlers Ford, an assisted technology company, who have now been involved for over 11 years and local sponsors ‘Spirit Circuits’ and ’Lyncolec Printed Circuits’, specialising in printed circuit boards. Managing Director, Steve Driver is already also supporting the team ‘Ragworm’ within the championship.

The public can expect colour, fun, excitement and lots of action on the beach, plus it’s all free of charge, this year you can even take the plunge and “have a go” in the taster session boat! (Conditions apply).

Not to be confused with any other sport ThunderCat Racing is the ultimate global Inflatable boat race series – faster and harder than ever seen before. This series is certainly not a new concept, nor constrained to the UK. Born out of South Africa over 30 years ago, the sport has now spanned to more than 18 countries all adopting the same UIM rules and classifications. It is the ultimate spectator experience, Saturday and Sunday morning will see the teams compete in a 45 mile endurance race with close to shore circuit course in the afternoons.
