by Nic Douglass on 26 Jul 2015
Adventures of a Sailor Girl talks with Peter Burling and all the AC Helms after the racing at Portsmouth Nic Douglass http://www.adventuresofasailorgirl.com
Adventures of a Sailor Girl is now in Portsmouth for the first round of the America's Cup World Series.

The Sailor Girl is Nic Douglass, a Sydney based sailor, sailing commentator and icon of the Sydney and Australian sailing scene. With the assistance of GAC Pindar she has been in Europe covering the Volvo Ocean Race stopover and other major events.

Finally it was time to see the AC45's line up today for the first day of racing for the 35th America's Cup at the AC World Series in Portsmouth. Land Rover Ben Ainslie Racing won the first race on home turf and were second in race two sitting them in the lead after day one. Emirates Team New Zealand won the second race, and with a third in race one they are in second place ahead of defenders Oracle Team USA.

This video kicks off on the water just before racing, with glimpses from my visit to the technical team bases this morning.

Then it is straight into the media scrum post racing for interviews with all the team: Dean Barker - SoftBank Team Japan, Frank Cammas - Groupama Team France, Nathan Outteridge - Artemis Racing, Sir Ben Ainslie - Land Rover BAR, Pete Burling - ETNZ and Jimmy Spithill - Oracle Team USA.
