2015 Audi-Tron Sailing Series – Melges 20s to take to the waters

2015 Melges 20 Audi-Tron Sailing Series – Celebrations have just finished for Stig's victory last Sunday at the Audi-Tron Sailing Series Melges 32, series organised by B.Plan Sport and Events in cooperation with Melges Europe, now it's time for the Audi Melges 20s to take to the waters for a hard challenging racing weekend.

The Melges 32s' main event will be in a few weeks time in Trapani at the World Championship, also the small One Designs produced by the Melges Performance Sailboats are eager to race the European Championship in Trapani taking place between August and September.

Porto Ercole is taking place before the big challenge in Trapani, in 2011 winning teams have been Audi Fratelli Giacomel of Guido Miani in 2013 Legionario of Giancarlo Capolino. Needless to say that this weekend all main high ranking teams will be challenging together at this event hosted by the Circolo Nautico e della Vela Argentario, teams like Dario Levi's Fremito d’Arja, reigning leader with two victories collected in Loano and Riva del Garda.

Teams that are not missing this race are also Guido Miani's Out of Reach that on this occasion will be sailed with Gabriele Benussi and Federico Michetti, the same team taking also part to the World Championship in San Francisco, and Mascalzone Latino Jr of Achille Onorato and two-time Olympic gold medal Malcolm Page. Particular attention also for Claudio Dutto's Asante Sana relevant character at the last races in Riva del Garda, Pecceré of Mirko De Falco; Maolca of Manfredi Vianini Tolomei, with tactician olympian and several times world champion Lorenzo Bodini; Customly of Corrado Agusta, with Gabrio Zandonà; Audi g-tron of the Audi Italia Sailing Team and Bombarda Racing of Andrea Pozzi, together with Giulio Desiderato.

High number of participating teams coming from well nine world nations, many Russian teams and from Monaco - back this time racing also American Section 16, with Richard Davies, and the Japan team of Spray.

As in Riva del Garda also this time a total of six races are planned over three days with the discard at series completion. Also this weekend, the Audi test drive are back. By the Audi Hospitality anyone interested will have the opportunity to try the latest car models from the four rings automotive brand. Available cars are the S1, A3 CB, SQ5, S5 e S3.
