NZL Sailing Team - Team Jolly lead after Day 3 in the 470 Europeans

Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie on Day 3 of the 470 Europeans in Denmark 470 European Championships
The 2012 Olympic Gold medalists, Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie are leading the fleet in the 2015 470 European Championships in Arhus, Denmark.

Team Jolly have opened a 12 points after Day 3, leading margin on the chasing pack with major changes across the leader boards in both the men’s and women’s events.

Jo Aleh modestly reflects, “We had a solid but not spectacular day, but it was enough to keep us in the hunt. Some good comebacks after some not so perfectly executed first beats. We finished up with a fourth and a fifth, which was one of the better days of any boat, so that was good”

Team Jolly describes it as another interesting day on the water, the first day of final's racing at these 2015 470 European Champs, we had a solid but not spectacular day, but it was enough to keep us in the hunt... Some good comebacks after some not so perfectly executed first beats...

We finished up with a 4th and a 5th, which was one of the better days of any boat, so that was good, especially as things had looked a lot worse than that a few times today!!

Looks like a bit more breeze tomorrow from the same on-shore direction as today, so I'm sure that will change the leaderboard around yet again!! Great having a nice mix of conditions, keeps it interesting!

Willcox/Snow-Hansen Sailing sailed two races today and will be disappointed to have dropped back to 15th after placing 19th and 27th on the water. No doubt the Kiwi men will be keen to bounce back strongly tomorrow.

Tomorrow both the NZL Sailing Team crews continue gold fleet racing.

Aon Fast Track crew, Sam Barnett and Zak Merton, are lying 22nd in the Men’s silver fleet.
