Volvo Ocean Race – Hoy viernes don Juan Carlos ha visitado en Gotemburgo (Suecia) al MAPFRE, el equipo español, en el que mañana sábado, y por primera vez desde 2011, volverá al mar.

Hoy viernes el Rey don Juan Carlos ha visitado el MAPFRE, barco español de la Volvo Ocean Race, en el que mañana volverá a navegar tras cuatro años sin hacerlo (desde 2011).

La visita ha tenido lugar en Gotemburgo, Suecia, donde el pasado lunes acabó la última de las nueve etapas oceánicas de la vuelta al mundo por equipos. El evento se clausurará mañana con la prueba corta en la que MAPFRE intentará deshacer el empate por la cuarta plaza a su favor, a partir de las 13:00 horas, y en la que navegará el Rey (este título todavía está vigente). “Estoy encantado de estar aquí, y de volver a navegar”, afirmaba, tras saludar a todo el equipo. “Siempre que tengo la oportunidad de apoyar a Pedro Campos y al equipo español de la Volvo Ocean Race, lo hago. Tengo muchas ganas de volver a navegar”, añadía.

Así mismo, don Juan Carlos ha saludado a Roberto ‘Chuny’ Bermúdez, el coruñés que se ha coronado campeón de la competición con su equipo el Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing. Bermúdez es el segundo español en ganar la Volvo Ocean Race en los 41 años de historia del evento más largo y uno de los más peligrosos que existen. El primero fue el catalán Joan Vila, en 2001, a bordo del Illbruck.
