Volvo Ocean Race -The last hours at sea

Now as the sun rises, Alvimedica has passed the the top tip of Denmark, the town of Skagen with just 25 miles to go across the Baltic Sea to the Gothenburg finish line.

The breeze is 12-14 knots, overnight Alvimedica came inshore consolidating their lead and tacked along the coast, playing it safe, still in control of this leg.

Now around the corner, they have tacked south ahead of an expected right shift, again determined not to leave anything to chance.

The podium battle continues, it’s likely to be light in the Göta River estuary, with an outgoing current, so there is much more yet to play out.
