Countdown to the 2015 Gazprom Swan European Regatta

The Gazprom Swan European Regatta, organized by the Royal Yacht Squadron and ClubSwan, will take place this summer in Cowes, UK, from 6-10 July.

More than 40 Swans are expected to take part, with entries from the Netherlands, Germany, France and Great Britain. The regatta has attracted loyal entrants such as the classic Sparkman and Stephens Swan 36 Carte Blanche (GBR), up to Swan 68 Titania of Cowes (GBR), the biggest Swan in the fleet. While Chris Frost’s Swan 36 Finola (GBR), will also be back racing in the 2015 edition, having won Class C in the 2013 Gazprom Swan European Regatta.

“We look forward to returning to Cowes for the Gazprom Swan European Regatta. The Solent always presents challenging sailing conditions for the Swan fleet and it is a great pleasure to be hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron, especially on the occasion of their bicentenary,” said Enrico Chieffi, Vice President, Nautor’s Swan.

This year’s event includes the Swan 45 World Championships and the Class will enjoy spirited competition for the world title, the winner of which will take home the stunning Swan 45 Gold Cup handcrafted by Asprey. Reigning world champions Earlybird (GER), owned by Hendrik Brandis and Christian Nagel, will be battling it out against eight other Swan 45s to retain the trophy.
