Next-Generation Performance, Hydration and Storage for Paddlers, Foilers and Sailors
Vaikobi, a global leader in ocean sports apparel and equipment, today announced the launch of the VXPII, the brand's second-generation PFD in the VXP range, delivering upgraded storage, hydration compatibility, improved visibility, and refined on-water comfort for paddlers, foilers, sailors, and endurance ocean-goers.
"The VXP range has become one of our most popular PFDs for downwind paddling because it delivers what ocean athletes actually need: smart storage, comfort, and performance," said Pat Langley, CEO of Vaikobi. "With the VXPII, we've taken everything people love about the VXP and enhanced it with meaningful upgrades, including front and rear hydration capability, more utility, and improved visibility."
Built for Storage, Now with Front Hydration Capability
The VXPII builds on Vaikobi's proven storage-first design with large front and rear pockets, now enhanced with the ability to store a 1L hydration bladder in the front. A dedicated eyelet and hose-routing system keeps hydration accessible and secure, while the VXPII continues to support rear hydration compatibility up to 1.5L, offering athletes flexible options for longer sessions and demanding conditions.
More Utility, Smarter Details
The VXPII introduces additional attachment tabs and utility points designed for hydration routing, accessory storage, and quick-access items such as nutrition gels. These enhancements give the wearer more versatility in how they configure their kit for training, racing, or offshore sessions.
Cleaner Look, Higher Visibility
Inspired by Vaikobi's recent design upgrades across the range, the VXPII features larger black panel sections in high-wear areas to help the PFD stay looking cleaner for longer, particularly in saltwater environments where gear gets dirty quickly. The VXPII also includes expanded high-visibility sections to support low-light visibility on the water.
Secure Strap Management for a Streamlined Fit
New strap covers on the VXPII allow athletes to neatly secure side and shoulder strap webbing once adjusted, reducing strap movement in the wind and keeping the PFD streamlined and tidy.
Vaikobi Form-Fitting Foam: Comfort That Gets Better with Use
At the core of the VXPII is Vaikobi's signature form-fitting foam, designed to mold to the athlete's body over time. This creates a more stable, comfortable fit that helps reduce movement and rubbing during long sessions.
Fit, Certification and Sizing Confidence
The VXPII uses a simple and effective side-entry system, making it easy to put on and take off; especially helpful for athletes who prefer not to pull a vest over their shoulders.
The VXPII is manufactured to the internationally recognised standard ISO 12402-5, a 50 Newton PFD certification, suitable for paddling, sailing, and foiling activities where performance mobility and safety are essential.
Vaikobi recommends athletes follow the VXPII size guide closely for the best fit and flotation performance.
Colour Range Designed to Stand Out
Vaikobi will offer the VXPII in a range of standout colour options, including high-visibility choices designed to help athletes be seen in changing conditions.
"If you're spending lots of time offshore and visibility matters, high-viz colours like orange and yellow are always a smart choice," Langley added. "We've designed the VXPII to help you feel confident, comfortable, and more visible out there."
