The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s Rolex China Sea Race has won Best Asian Regatta at the 11th Asia Boating Awards organised by Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines. The awards were presented during a luxurious gala at Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel on the opening night of the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show (May 1-3).

The prestigious Asia Boating Awards were presented in 21 categories, showcasing Asian builders and international brands, as well as Asian regattas and marinas. The region, especially China, is continuing to grow and mature as a major market for boats, as well as yachts, superyachts and related products/services such as marinas and service centres.

The list of nominees came from online polling of Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating readers, with the winners determined by a panel of judges selected for their expertise as well as their ability to make informed, impartial decisions.

Accepting the award, a Baccarat crystal trophy, was the Club’s Corporate and International Partnerships Manager Torrey Dorsey who said, “I would like to thank Rolex for their continued support of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, China Sea Race, and many other major sailing events around the globe. I would also like to thank all of the brands and organisations here tonight that support the Rolex China Sea Race with boats or sailors.”

The 2016 China Sea Race will start on Wednesday 23 March 2016. Event website
