Melges 32 Audi-Tron Sailing Series – Where major and minor lapse

by Melges 32 Class Association on 19 Apr 2015
Melges 32 - Audi-Tron Sailing Series BPSE / MMelandri
With six races now complete and one discard in play, the 2015 Audi-Tron Sailing Series scoreboard in Loano is topped by Alessandro Rombelli's STIG with tactician Francesco Bruni and Roberto Tomasini Grinover's Robertissima with Vasco Vascotto calling tactics.

To hold the reigns of a fleet so competitive that includes a who's who list of international sailing's superstars is quite a task. Rombelli thus far appears unstoppable with his seven-point lead over European Champion Tomasini Grinover.

Overnight leader Roberto Mazzucato on Margherita fell back to third after a set of results that includes two double-digit finish despite the stable breeze of today. Completing the top five are Giagiacomo Serena di Lapagio on G Spot in fourth, and 2014 Audi-Tron Sailing Series Event winner Andrea Ferrari's Spirit of Nerina finished the day in fifth.

In addition to main sponsor Audi, the Audi-Tron Sailing Series is supported by official sponsors Kuehne+Nagel, Technical Partners Torqeedo, Caffe Vergnano, Bavaria, Usail, Nuova Jolly and The Suite Club.
