New Zhik store opens in Cowes, UK

The double fronted 45 meter square store which opened it’s doors for the Easter Weekend is stockingthe complete range of Zhik yachting gear, including the Isotak® Ocean and Offshore foul weather gear, Aroshell® Coastal, mid-layersZfleece® and Hydrophobic™ fleece together with Zhik’s comprehensive range of performance base layers, including the ‘SuperThermal’™Hydrobase® andZMerino®.

Zhik’s acclaimed DeckBeaters®, which are ideal for both hiking over toe-rails and long days in sports boats, are likely to be a top seller in Cowes, alongside Zhik’s highly durable Deck Pants and Shorts and new ZhikDry™ shirts.

The footwear range will include the robust, ZhikSeaboots™ with self-draining gators and the popular and stylish ZKGs®,the flexible, high grip amphibious shoes in a range of fun colours.

In addition, the store will be promoting Zhik’s high performance Superwarm®and Microfleece™wetsuit range and extremely popular dinghy sailing clothing and accessories.

The new store will also be offering Zhik’sfull ‘Custom Service’ for clients to personalise and custom print or embroider their crew, team or event gear too.

The store has been set up, and will be managed, by Kate and Andrew (Dog) Palfrey. Kate’s career includes considerable retail and customer service experience, including working at Liberty’s in London. Andrew who is two times Etchells World Champion, most recently in 210 sailing with John Bertrand and Tom Slingsby, also competed in the 2008 Bejing Olympic Games in the Star with Iain Murray. In between racing and coaching commitments, Andrew will be helping Kate run the store.

Andrew Palfrey said, “It’s been a very positive first few days. Lots of people through the door and some very positive feedback. We’re very happy with initial sales too!”
