GC Intel Marine Expo - Havana Houseboats announces world first

The new 2015 Havana Houseboats Ultimate Entertainer - ideal for friends or long weekends with family Emma Milne
Havana Houseboats has confirmed the world premiere of its sophisticated new 45ft ‘Ultimate Entertainer’ at the 2015 Gold Coast International Marine Expo (21-24 May 2015).

The Gold Coast-based business joins a growing list of exhibitors ready to unveil a large and exciting new range of boats and products exclusively at the 2015 Expo – a massive showcase featuring everything from superyachts to kayaks, jet skis to fishing equipment … and everything else in between.

Havana Houseboats owner Matt Duncan said the sophisticated and luxurious new 45ft Ultimate Entertainer is an Australian first and signifies a progressive new design direction for his range of luxury boats.

'In the past we have mostly built houseboats for sea-change couples wishing to live aboard but we see an opportunity to tap a new market, one in which people are wanting a day boat that can comfortably cater for up to 15 people,' he said.

'This new design offers the best of both worlds in entertaining – she is ideal for day trips for friends and also for long weekends away with the family.'

The Havana 45’s twin 60hp Mercury BigFoot outboards, combined with her full fibreglass cat-style hull, have her cruising at around the 10-knot mark.

One of the most striking features of the full-feature Havana 45 – which will be offered at a special boat show price of $270,000 – is the fact that 100 per cent of the external walls are tinted glass, from floor to ceiling, offering amazing views of the wildlife and waterways, and also ensuring ease of maintenance with just a hose needed for cleaning.

'Immediately upon stepping aboard from the swim platform to the large aft entertaining deck which has non-slip teak decking, the sense of light and space aboard the Havana 45 is clearly evident,' said Matt.

'Large bi-fold doors complement the open plan design, and there’s a comfortable seat for everyone.

'She also has a full-size and fully equipped galley to rival any luxury apartment, satisfying even the most discerning chef’s requirements.'

Accommodation aboard Havana’s Ultimate Entertainer includes a king-sized day bed with storage underneath, as well as two large designer lounges that each convert to double beds – meaning she can easily sleep six people for weekends away.

And then there’s the upper sun deck, which is fully carpeted and accessed via a custom-made, mirror-finish stainless steel ladder. The roof area is also home to an innovative new 1.5kW solar array that charges at up to 90 amps, keeping the large battery banks always topped up for running the full-size fridge/freezer and 50-inch TV.

Event and Marketing Manager Emma Milne said the Havana Houseboats 45 was a welcome addition to the 2015 Expo’s growing list of product premieres from some of the most respected names in the marine industry.

If you love boating, the Gold Coast is the place to be from 21-24 May 2015.
