Up north anything could happen with the now Cat 5 Tropical cyclone Marcia, slated to be one of the most powerful cyclones to hit the Queensland coast in the late few decades now approaching Shoalwater Bay, north of Yeppoon, you have to feel for the Great Keppel Islanders right now.But thankfully not a highly populated area of the Queensland coast line.

2015 JJ Giltinan 18ft Skiff Championship - Thurlow Fisher Lawyers broke the previous Gotta Love It 7 domination to win Race 5 on the Sydney Harbour yesterday. Thurlow Fisher Lawyers (Michael Coxon, Trent Barnabas, and Dave O’Connor) won the start at the pin end of the line and sailed brilliantly in the light ENE breeze to take the gun.

Defending champion Gotta Love It 7 (Seve Jarvin, Sam Newton, Scott Babbage) crossed in second place, ahead of the third placed USA skiff Harken (Howie Hamlin, Dan Phillips, Skip McCormack),

A JJ lay day ahead of a big weekend finale, with the Gotta Love It 7 team getting their Championship speeches prepared. They will retain the title if the team can finish in the first eleven placings in either of the weekend’s races. Do YOU want to bet against that?

Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15 - Team Brunel has managed to get some easterly leverage on Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing by about 32nm. Both Team Alvimedica and Abu Dhabi have just tacked in an effort to get east. A pretty painful one too, as they are now pointing 90º away from the leader’s line.

Barcelona World Race – Fourth placed Jorg Riechers (GER) and Sébastien Audigane on Renault Captur have made the decision to reroute to New Zealand to undertake a technical pit stop to try and make a more effective repair, following damage to their starboard rudder.
