Australian O'pen Bic Cup - All is ready

For the 2015 Australian O'pen Bic Cup commencing today the biggest fleet ever in the southern hemisphere is assembled at Sandringham Yacht club, 83 young sailors will take to the water this morning for the regatta start.



First up will be an 'all in' invitation race, with the regatta staring proper in the afternoon Sunday was a day to catch up with old friends and to sample the conditions with an afternoon practice session. The weather forecast is looking really good for the week with varied condition to test all.



The event is shaping up to one the best with a very strong teams from WA, NSW and Qld coming over to challenge the likes of some of the classes great sailors. The Czech Republic's Veronika Zivny, current German Champion and runner up U19 World Champion is here along with the Sean Herbert from NZ, Past World Champion, from Australia there is Multiple World Champion Kristen Wadley and Sandringham's current U13 World Champion Jack Challands.

Also there are young sailors from eight years old attending their first O'pen Bic regatta where new friendships will be made.

With the backdrop of Sandringham Yacht Club and the Melbourne skyline another memorable regatta is in the making.
