2015 Australian O'pen Bic Cup - Tomorrow sees the start of the sixth Australian O'pen Bic Cup to be held at Sandringham Yacht Club, Melbourne.

This year will see the largest fleet assembled for a national event in Australia in the short time this ISAF Junior/youth class has been present in this country with at last count 83 eager competitors to take to the water. Including overseas sailors from the USA, Czech Republic and New Zealand.

In the fleet there are current and past World and National Champions along with many newcomers to this exciting class.

The Sponsors for the event are Magic Marine Australia, OTB Marine and Optimum Time.



The format of the event is fleet racing with age divisions Under 13,Under 16 and Under 19 also the class has the Gold and Silver fleet, silver being those who are new or younger that are racing for the first time with a slightly shorter course. The Gold fleet sails as one group with all the ages.

When conditions dictate,'no wind' it’s time for some fun with a freestyle event which sees competitors doing tricks on their boats whilst dressed in crazy costumes.



When the wind does come its race time again.

Registration takes place Sunday with the start of racing Monday morning through to Thursday.

With the 2015 Worlds coming to Melbourne next December and a fleet in excess of 150 this exciting boat is set to grow in popularity for both sailor who races or just wants to have fun.
