Cargo ship aground in Solent - Next 24 hours 'critical'

The Hoegh Osaka ran aground in the Solent off the coast of the Isle of Wight late on Saturday and is listing at 45 degrees on Bramble Bank.
The salvage master tasked with refloating the Costa Concordia cruise liner, Capt Nicholas Sloane, said salvors face a 'critical situation'.
He said the next 24 hours are 'crucial for the local conditions and the wash'.
'The main thing is to stabilise and bring her upright,' he said.

A member of the team planning to salvage the stranded ship, the Hoegh Osaka, says experts are deciding whether to float the ship before making her upright.
The Hoegh Osaka ran aground in the Solent off the coast of the Isle of Wight late on Saturday.
Speaking at a news conference, Bram Sperling, the Senior Salvage Master for salvors Svitzer, said that although most of the cargo was still in place some items had shifted, damaging the ship and letting in some water.
