Sail-World's coverage of the Boxing Day start of the Rolex Sydney Hobart will be its biggest ever.

With the expansion of the new Sail-World network world-wide, our eleven racing sites and our six cruisiing site will be carrying the full vision coverage and we will also have Nic Douglass's audio coverage starting from 8am.
We have been working in the background to make sure we have the best possible streaming HF radio with two feeds and an Hobart HF radio operator putting his shoulder to the wheel this year, thanks to the considerable efforts from Mark Rutherford who will be providing coverage for his ninth year.
Great feedback this last week for our three part interview series with Nico, Chris Nicholson on Team Vestas grounding. Nico has given lots of interviews in the last two weeks but the 80 minutes he spent with Richard Gladwell was pretty special. Thanks Nico, we hope that Volvo and Vestas press the green button very soon. It’s a must read!!

Notable that Matt Belcher and Will Ryan missed the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Melbourne to compete and win in the Copa Brasil de Vela to top off a successful 2014 in Rio. When the best 470 sailors in the world knew it did not make sense to sail in Melbourne, their home country world cup event, there is a problem.
New Zealander and ISAF Vice President Adrienne Greenwood was in Melbourne for the ISAF World Cup but the NZ high performance squad was not that too speak volumes for the issue ISAF has with the World Cup concept.
A sad week for Australian keelboat sailing with the news that the Gosford to Lord Howe race and Tasmania's Three Peaks Race are no more.
The struggle for the Lord Howe race has been the inability for the event to grow with a shallow lagoon and a disconnect between Gosford Sailing Club and the event not helping.
In recent years Tony Evans has carried the can for the Club but his frustration boiled over in recent months and the Club confronted the issue that no one was willing to step up to the plate. Hopefully another Club can see benefits in the race and it will rise from the ashes.
The Three Peaks race has been a Tasmanian sailing-running icon but the hard to organise event on two levels entrants and volunteer in now in abeyance.
A lot of action on the World Championship seen in Aus over coming weeks. Sail-World's coverage of the Moths will continue this week with a lot of behind the scenes news.
