34 Atlantic Odyssey yachts cross start line off Arrecife

by Doina Cornell on 18 Nov 2014
Papy Jovial, The Larrikin, Nyctea and Sephina - 2014 Atlantic Odyssey start Cornell Sailing Events
Spinnakers and Parasails flying, the 34 Atlantic Odyssey yachts crossed the start line off Arrecife bound for Martinique some 2700 miles away.

Although Sephina, an Australian Lagoon 400, crossed the line first, she was a little ahead of time, so the first boat in fact to cross the start line correctly after the 12 noon starting gun was Gazel Rebel from France, a Pogo 850.

The other yachts soon followed in a colourful parade of sails and heartfelt waves to those watching on the committee boat.
