Kobelt has revealed the acquisition of Keypower Equipment Inc., a Canadian-based manufacturer of thrusters, stabilizers, drives and hydraulic systems.

Founded by James Webber and Ean Orcutt in 1976, Keypower designs and builds Bow and Stern Thrusters, Digital Roll Fin Stabilizers, Get Home Drives, Hydraulic Driven Alternators, Hydraulic Driven AC Generators and Custom Hydraulic Systems and Controls for the marine industry. For over 36 years, the company has specialized in the design and manufacturing of reliable solutions for guiding and controlling motion on commercial vessels and pleasure craft.

'Kobelt and Keypower are aligned in their commitment to supply durable, reliable systems into the marine sector.' stated James Webber, Keypower President. 'Given the synergies in the product lines and manufacturing processes, the two companies will now be able to offer one integrated package of products, making the design and purchasing process easier for our customers. Furthermore, our customers will benefit from the combined worldwide service and support network to ensure seamless product support.'

'Kobelt’s mission is to design and manufacture systems that provide our customers with the safest, most trusted solutions to guiding and controlling movement.' said David Bockhold, CEO of Kobelt. 'The Keypower product line complements and expands Kobelt’s commitment to offering high quality, single source comprehensive solutions to its customers. In addition to Propulsion Controls, Steering and Braking Systems, we can now incorporate Thrusters and Stabilizers for a complete package. Our customers are looking for one company to take responsibility for the integration of multiple systems, so we are responding to this demand. Keypower is a perfect fit.'

Kobelt will retain the Keypower brand; a well-known, trusted and respected name in the marine industry. Keypower branded products will be distributed and serviced through Kobelt’s Global Partner Network operating in 60 countries worldwide.

Kobelt and Keypower customers should continue to use existing contacts for sales and support. Keypower
