Booking now open for 2014/15 Oxford Team Racing Academy

Five weekends of team race training are to be run at Oxford Sailing Club this winter in Fireflies. If you would like to be coached in the art of team racing then this is the squad for you.

The Academy is open to individual sailors from the age of 15 to 21 years as of the 1st September 2014, who are experienced fleet racers; no previous team racing experience is expected. Both helms and crews can apply with boat crews and then teams being formed from the squad.

The aim of the Academy is to enable sailors to experience the joy of team racing and allow them to compete against the best team racers in the UK at the BSDRA Finals at the end of June 2015 with coach support. It is also intended that an under 16 and under 18 team will participate in the NSSA two boat team racing regatta on the 21st March 2015.

The Academy is limited to 24 sailors.

The head Coach will be George Barker

The Academy weekends are:

22/23 November
13/14 December
24/25 January
14/15 February
21/22 March

The Fireflies will be provided, you just need your sailing kit. Hot food will be available each day of the squad and chips are on the menu!

The cost of the squad will be £250 per sailor and this covers all of the five training weekends.
