Nathan Wilmot and his GAC Pindar Crew are hoping to finish with a flourish when the world’s sailing elite travel to Nice (2-5 October), for the penultimate Act of the 2014 Extreme Sailing Series.
GAC Pindar plan to mount a charge up the leader board, following race victories and several podiums in Cardiff and Istanbul in Acts 5 and 6. GAC Pindar boasts the experience of British Olympian Hugh Styles who replaces Jack McCartney as trimmer and James Wierzbowski returns on tactics to complete a strong crew in Nice.
GAC Pindar Principal Andrew Pindar said: 'We’re using the Extreme Sailing Series as a key tool to drive our sailors’ development and they’re looking to compete strongly here and then move on to Sydney in front of a passionate home crowd in December.'
'This week gives the team another opportunity to polish their performance and improve their consistency levels. It will be intriguing to see how we team deal with the open seas that Nice offers, a unique challenge in the Series.'
Racing starts at 15:30 GMT+2 Thursday 2 October, to follow a live stream of the event, go to event website.
