Team Alvimedica chama francês para correr a Volvo Ocean Race

Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15 - O francês Seb Marsset foi convocado pelo time turco/norte-americano para o desafio da Volta ao Mundo. Velejador de 29 anos estava no Groupama, campeão da edição passada, como reserva.

Antes tarde do que nunca! O francês Seb Marsset foi confirmado como tripulante do Team Alvimedica para a Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15. O atleta realiza o sonho de ser titular na regata, após integrar o Groupama na edição passada. Pelo menos pé quente ele é, pois o barco citado foi o campeão de 2011-12. Seb Marsset, de 29 anos, se junta ao grupo, basicamente formado por tripulantes até 30 anos.

'Nós tivemos a sorte de conhecer e ter tempo para avaliar seu desempenho a bordo', disse Bill Erkelens, CEO do Team Alvimedica.

Seb Marsset trabalhou com o Groupama por quatro anos consecutivos. No ano passado, ele correu o Tour de France à La Voile. Outras experiências do velejador foram obtidas a bordo de trimarãs da MOD 70 e monocascos da Class 40.

Os tripulantes das sete equipes da Volvo Ocean Race agora estão descansando para a regata que começa dia 4 de outubro. Enquanto isso, os barcos estão sob a supervisão do estaleiro oficial do evento, comandado por Nick Bice.

'Agora temos teoria e prática juntas. As equipes podem ver que nós somos profissionais confiando na nossa manutenção'.
