The RS Class Association are delighted to announce that the RS200 Youth Championship will take place within the Gul RS200 Inland Championship at Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club on 18/19 October.

Helm and crew must both be aged 22 or under on 18th October 2014 and will be competing for the RS200 Youth Championship Hyundai Trophy, plus vouchers from event sponsor Gul. Past winners include Ben Saxton and Kate MacGregor, George Yeoman and Georgie Akin-Smith, James and Will Rusden, Matt Giles and Ian Gill and most recently Steven Clayton and Stuart Moore. With 34 of the 119 boats at the Nationals helmed by youths or juniors competition is already hotting up.

Gul's Mike Pickering comments 'We are absolutely delighted that the RS200 Youth Championship will be part of the Gul RS200 Inland Championship, it will be interesting to see if the youths can beat the masters!'

The event will comprise a maximum of six races, with three back-to-back races planned each day. First race is scheduled for 12:00 on Saturday 18th October. Depending on the number of entrants a flight system may be used.

In true RS200 style there will be a fun Saturday night social 'A Taste of Somerset' to be held at The Black Dog Saloon at the foot of Cheddar Gorge.

Entry is now open and will close at 23.59 on Thursday 16th October. To help with planning sailors are requested to enter as early as possible.
