Tem brasileiro na VOR! André Fonseca é escalado para time espanhol

Foi de última hora, mas o Brasil terá um atleta para a disputa da Volvo Ocean Race, maior regata de Volta ao Mundo do planeta. O representante verde-e-amarelo será André Fonseca, apelidado de Bochecha. O velejador catarinense de 36 anos será chefe de turno do Team España durante as provas. A Volvo Ocean Race começa em 4 de outubro, na cidade de Alicante, com a In-Port Race - chamada também de Regata do Porto.

André Fonseca está escalado para sua terceira Volta ao Mundo. Em 2005-06, o atleta correu no Brasil 1, primeiro e até agora único barco do país na regata. O time de Torben Grael ficou em terceiro lugar. Na edição seguinte, a de 2008-09, o velejador integrou o Delta Lloyd.

Recentemente, o atleta velejou no Phoenix, barco brasileiro da classe TP52. No currículo de André Fonseca estão as participações olímpicas em Atenas-2004 e Pequim-2008, ambas na classe 49er.
