4X4 Outdoors Show and Fishing and Boating Expo wows water lovers

No matter how you take to the water, this year's National 4x4 Outdoors Show and Fishing and Boating Expo at the Melbourne Showgrounds (22-24 August) is guaranteed to please all boating and fishing enthusiasts.

'Our show continues to lead the industry with the variety and quality of exhibitors, special guests and interactive activities that are available for boating and fishing aficionados,' Paul Mathers, Event Director said.

All the big name industry exhibitors including Action Kayak, CH Marine, JV Marine, Port Phillip Boating Centre, Regal Marine and Tackleworld are locked in to showcase their latest and greatest products.

JV Marine (#G112) will showcase the latest offerings from Australia's leading aluminium boat brand Quintrex, including the Quintrex 650 Trident Hard Top which features 17 rod holders and a new live-bait tank.

At stand #G501, Untamed Flies and Tackle will host the Australian launch of two new Smith Creek products, the Middle Fork Fly Patch and the Rig Keeper, and will also display the brand new Scott Tidal fly rods.

For waterproof cases to protect mobile phones, cameras and other digital equipment, visitors should pop by the DiCAPac stand (#G409).

Whilst, at stand #A143 the team from Boab Boat Hire will make boat ownership more accessible with their unique hire and boat share options.

The Yarra Valley Fly Fishing team will be sharing tricks of the trade in the casting area with 'how to' lessons in casting and fly tying, using the latest rods and accessories.

Plus visitors of all ages and capabilities will be able to learn and perfect their fishing techniques with the Yamaha Supertank and regular casting classes locked in.

The Rig Master Tackle's Fishing Simulator will bring out everyone's competitive nature, with regular competitions to be run across the three days of the Show and over $3,000 in prizes up for grabs.

Fishing legend and host of television's iFish programme, Paul Worsteling will be hosting the Tackleworld Fishing Stage, featuring a massive new line-up of special guests and industry experts.

All areas of fishing will be discussed including where to fish, tackle to use, Q&A sessions with your favourite fishing personalities and the best advice on what fish you can catch where.

Mick McKay, the current Australian and Commonwealth Fly Fishing Champion will also be making appearances on stage.

The WAECO Outback Stage and the new Campfire Cooking Corner presented by XXXX Anglers will also host a revolving line-up of special guests and industry icons, many appearing exclusively at the National 4x4 Outdoors Show and Fishing and Boating Expo.

These include John 'Roothy' Rooth, the Bush Mechanic, All 4 Adventure's Jase Andrews, Chris 'Brolga' Barnes, aka Kangaroo Dundee, Sheree and Peter 'Spida' Everitt from The Great Australian Doorstep and travel adventurers Chris and Elaine Clash.

The crowds are also sure to be drawn to the exclusive open air performances from Australian music icons Mark Seymour (Hunters and Collectors) and Ross Wilson (Mondo Rock) who will rock the XXXX Retreat in the Action Arena on the Saturday and Sunday respectively.

This is a merely a snapshot of what can be experienced at Melbourne's favourite outdoors expo with over 200 exhibitors and more than 34,000 square metres dedicated to the boating, fishing, touring, towing and 4x4 arenas.

Another drawcard for visitors is the major prize of a fully-loaded Isuzu MU-X LS-M manual off-roader thanks to Isuzu Ute and Opposite Lock, valued at $60,000.
