Step aboard for Melbourne's biggest sail boat spectacular!

by Beth Gibson on 29 Jan 2004
Melbourne's own sailing inspiration Jesse Martin will be amongst 10,000 visitors expected at the fifth Melbourne Club Marine Sail Boat Show at the
Sandringham Yacht Club between April 2 and 4, 2004.

One of the biggest events on the sailing calendar, at Victoria's largest marina, the three-day bumper showcase will feature more than $40 million in sailing hardware and accessories for those who love the sea and the wind in their sails!

Not only is this event for the most serious of sailing enthusiasts, but for those wanting to learn more about sailing, or who would simply like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step on board some of the world's truly spectacular boats!

The Club Marine show will be a playground of more than 100 marine exhibitors encompassing 70 sailing boats in the water and on land;
dinghies and catamarans; trade displays including electronics, chandlery, merchandise and clothing; as well as information about insurance, finance and sailing and charter holidays.

The in-water display will also feature a recreational cruising arm. Friday's show is
trade only.

Leading yacht manufacturer, Sydney Yachts, will display its magnificent 'Sydney 32' one design, a technologically advanced racing yacht designed
by Murray, Burns and Dovell, with large saloon area, modular styling and timber finish - a dreamboat for racers and cruisers alike.

Meeting your global navigation needs will be Navman Marine launching their Trackfish 6600 - a world-class combination 'fish-finding' and
navigation solution, complete with high-resolution colour display and exceptional viewing angles.

The Sandringham Boating Academy, a sailing school for people of all ages, will be out in full force together with crowd-pleasing model yachts, kite surfing exhibitions and much more!

'The show is a great day out for the entire family, with entertainment, barbecue and refreshments, as well as the chance to win a Sunsail holiday (a five night bareboat self sail) charter holiday in the Whitsundays or the Sydney Harbour upon a three cabin yacht,' said show
organiser Richard Hewett.

Fortune favours the Beneteaus!
Thank you, Huey… Some sun, and a tad of wind means it is time to go racing... Ahead of the annual Beneteau Pittwater Regatta by Flagstaff Marine the weather had not been all that grand. So, peaks of sun migrating to distinct patches, and the occasional zephyr turning into a waft, then on to a calm breeze was fortunate.
