National 4x4 Outdoors Show - Unprecedented exhibitors expected

by Erin Ponton on 17 Jul 2014
The 2014 National 4x4 Outdoors Show will host the biggest showing of vehicles in over five years, including the new Suzuki S-Cross. Suzuki
Top automotive manufacturers and dealerships have once again thrown their support behind next month's National 4x4 Outdoors Show and Fishing and Boating Expo, with an unprecedented number exhibiting.

Suzuki, Isuzu UTE and Volkswagen will display their latest 4WDs, as will top Melbourne dealerships including Bayside Jeep, Melton Toyota, Werribee Nissan, Werribee Kia and Werribee Mitsubishi to name a few.

'The support we've received from manufacturers and dealerships this year has been fantastic, in fact it's the biggest showing of vehicles we will host in over five years,' Paul Mathers, Event Director said.

'Last year's dedicated Automotive Pavilion was extremely popular with visitors and proved to automotive exhibitors the benefits of being at our event, something which we've seen again this year with the high levels of bookings and enquiries.'

The stars of Suzuki's stand will be the new S-Cross all-wheel-drive Hatch and the V-Strom motorcycle adventure tourer, as well as products from Suzuki Marine, showcasing the breadth and heritage of the Suzuki 'Way of Life'.

Isuzu UTE will be showcasing its popular D-MAX and MU-X vehicles, whilst nearby Volkswagen will display its award-winning Amarok range.

Returning to the Australian automotive market will be the all-new Jeep Cherokee, which will be on display at Bayside Jeep's stand, alongside the latest models of the Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler.

New to the National 4x4 Outdoors Show will be the 4WD Proving Ground, a purpose built track, where visitors can not only test the latest 4WD vehicles with professional drivers on hand to answer questions, but experience a range of driver education demonstrations ranging from safe towing to recovery and rescue.

Presented by Rick O'Brien and the team from Channel 10's Offroad Adventure Show, the 4WD Proving Ground will feature a variety of surfaces simulating being off the beaten track including a sand trap, water crossing and compact rock segment along with an artificial steep hill.

'We are very excited to be launching the 4WD Proving Ground at this year's Show as the track really takes the concept of try before you buy to the next level. Rick and his team are Australian 4WD experts and we are confident visitors will learn a lot from them,' continued Paul.

Nearby, Australia's most famous precision driving team, Isuzu UTE's Team D-MAX, will take visitors for rides as they balance on two wheels and take on the world's steepest climbs and descents over the Iron Summit.

And for those visitors at National 4x4 Outdoors Show who already have the vehicle, but wanting to accessorise it, there will be over 100 4WD aftermarket accessories and service exhibitors showcasing their latest products and accessories.

The 2014 National 4x4 Outdoors Show and Fishing and Boating Expo will be held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from August 22-24, please go to 4x4 Show for further information. Early bird tickets are on sale until 22 July.
