The NZ Media circus continues with the America's Cup with Oracle Team USA CEO, Russell Coutts forcing a back down from NZ Herald.
Writing on his Facebook page, has picked up several comments made in a recent story published in the New Zealand Sunday Herald over aspects of a story criticizing the 35th America's Cup Protocol.
The original story can be viewed below. Fair enough comment too.
A good start to Kiel Week 2014 by Superstar of this year’s Kiel Week Australian Mathew Belcher and his World Champion crew Will Ryan, who demonstrated again why Mat Belcher is World Sailor of the year. In heavy conditions, 30 knots and two metre season the Australian 470 duo e won the first two races.
Joy this week for the Volvo Ocean Race organisers, as the Spanish confirmed entry six, Not long to go, with the 2014-2015 Volvo racing kicking off in early October. Seven Boats have been built, so we won’t be surprised to see one late entry.
The embedded reporters, dedicated media program was launched with a fanfare last year ahead of Volvo 2014-15 and it’s no secret that the teams have had trouble finding talent. Hilariously the Team Brunel went within 10% of the world 24 record on its very first offshore sail and the soon thereafter sacked embedded reporter, wrote nothing on that amazing feat but filed a story on his post passage supermarket shop.
So it’s was a pleasure at last to read the daily reports from Corinna Halloran, on trial on board Team SCA as they blasted across the Atlantic back in April. At that time we editorialised she was a keeper, now she has been confirmed.
A lot of surprise on the world scene that Australia’s self-proclaimed media super star Ms Nicole Scott was not selected. Did we say that with a straight face??
On the world scene lots happening with the Palma Superyacht Cup, the Newport Bermuda Race, Britain’s Round the Island Race, the Giragla Rolex Cup and good stuff locally on the weekend too.
Enjoy this morning's news and have a great week sailing.
