Sail Brisbane 2014 regatta final days racing concluded today, as athletes jostled for final positions on the podium.Winners were announced at this afternoon’s awards ceremony, after a beautiful days racing in a light 5 – 10 knot Northerly Breeze.
In the 49er class Lewis Brake and Joel Turner took out first position and therefore winning the Queensland Championships trophy. Second place went to Harry Price and Angus Williams, followed by Klaus Lorenz and Jonathon Andersen in third.
The 29er class and State Championships for 2014was taken out by Kurt Hansen and Harry Morton, beating Ezra Pritchard and Tom Siganto in second followed by third placed Jim Colley and Shaun Connor.
In the Byte class the championship trophy was awarded to New Zealander Alastair Gifford winning on count back, followed closely by Australian Thomas Cunich who took out the Men’s Youth Olympic spot. The Women’s Youth Olympic position went to third placed Elyse Ainsworth for Queensland.
