Brisbane's premier annual boating, fishing, camping, four-wheel-driving and outdoors lifestyle exhibition was an outstanding success last weekend.
With its renewed focus on family-friendly attractions and exhibitions, the 2014 Brisbane Tinnie & Tackle Show and National 4x4 & Outdoors Show attracted over 30,000 visitors to the Brisbane Showgrounds over its three days, 4 to 6 April.
A record number of families and children attended the 2014 show with exhibitors reporting high quality enquiries from visitors looking to purchase.
'Families are the core of outdoor lifestyle consumers, so I am delighted we were able to deliver them in bigger numbers than ever before,' Paul Mathers, Event Director and Portfolio Lead (Motoring Lifestyle) said.
'I think it's fair to say that the show has never looked better with more quality exhibitors and attractions than we've ever had before.
'At the end of the day, for our exhibitors it's about selling product and they're delighted with the volume of sales achieved, many recorded their best sales at the show ever.
'No wonder we've already had a massive record number of rebooks for next year.'
Highlights of 2014 show included special guests like the Australian Wildlife environmental warriors the Irwins, with Terri, Bindi and Robert entertaining the crowds on WAECO Outback Stage over the weekend.
Chris 'Brolga' Barnes, aka Kangaroo Dundee, was also a big hit sharing stories about his experiences and answering questions.
The Action Arena presented by Isuzu UTE was awesome too, with the Isuzu UTE Team D-MAX action experience, the Monster truck, and the Can Ams and Xtreme 4x4 time trials all attracting plenty of interest.
Brisbane's exhibition also attracted the elite of the fishing world to the Tinnie & Tackle Show, with event ambassador Paul Worsteling joined on the Engel Fishing Stage by Mark Taylor in standing-room only presentations.
Also extremely popular were the Engel Fishing Stage's shows by Dave 'Nugget' Downie, Jason Medcalf and Jason Ehrlich, as well as Bart Beek's cooking demonstrations on the Club Marine Cooking Stage.
'The 2014 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show presented by Club Marine was a great success, the weather was perfect and the crowds were great,' Kiri Ngarotata said.
'The Show hosted a significant number of new product releases which were unveiled for the first time, as well as an increased number of new exhibitors ... The majority of our exhibitors reported strong numbers of sales and genuine enquiries, which was extremely pleasing.
'For boaties looking to purchase, it really was a one-stop-shop experience where everything was available at their fingertips, including the wealth and knowledge of the best in the industry.'
Plus, Paul Worsteling's 'How to Fish' sessions in the Kids Marine Zone were particularly popular with young show goers.
'Building on our family focus this year, our planning is already under way for a bigger and better event in 2015 and we're excited to get things going,' Paul Mathers confirmed.
The Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and National 4x4 & Outdoors Show will return to the Brisbane Showgrounds, March 20-22, 2015.
