rescue ME All Sat Communications www.allsat.com.au
Positioned as the 'smallest personal locator beacon on the market', rescueME PLB1 could be the must-have piece of kit for all adventurers, on land and sea.

According to exclusive Australian distributor, Ian Veitch, 'The rescueME PLB1 provides the reassurance that emergency services can be alerted by the press of a button'.

'It can be operated with a single hand in even the most challenging situations,' he explains. 'A simple spring-loaded flap covers the activation button preventing inadvertent use. RescueME PLB1 works with the only officially recognised worldwide dedicated search and rescue satellite network (operated by Cospas Sarsat). As this is funded by governments there are no charges to use this service.

'When activated the rescueME PLB1 transmits your position and your ID to a Rescue Coordination Center via satellite link. Rescue services are promptly notified of your emergency and regularly advised of your current location.'

Weighing just 116gms, this little device is light, compact and simple to use, ideal for sailors or anybody getting out on the water.

Exhibiting for the first time at the 2014 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May, All Sat Communications will also be representing SPOT® Gen 3 Satellite Messenger and the Delorme inReach SE products.

SPOT® has proved to be a great seller and popular with anyone who ventures into the great outdoors or is in an area of poor or no mobile phone coverage. While the recreational market has a large market share for sales of them, approximately 50 % of sales are as a safety device for lone and remote workers.

SPOT® will perform similar to a Personal Locator Beacon / EPIRB with extra features. It uses the GPS system to find its location and then transmits this data using the Globalstar Satellite Network. Use of the SPOT® system is via a subscription fee.

The new model of the Delorme inReach has all the features and functions of the previous model but with the addition of a screen.

InReach SE (Screen Edition) is the satellite communicator from DeLorme that puts amazing functionality in the palm of your hand without having to pair the device.

You can send and receive free-form, 160-character text messages outside of cell phone range; Trigger an SOS and interact back and forth with GEOS, the 24/7 search and rescue monitoring centre and turn on tracking to share and view GPS coordinates.

It features a long-lasting internal rechargeable lithium battery for ultimate convenience and portability, plus 100 hours of battery life in 10 minute tracking mode, as well as being waterproof, dustproof, and impact-resistant.

The device can be paired to a Smartphone or tablet for the complete experience and it allows you to post to social media.
Any activation of the SPOT®, or the Delorme inReach SOS function is monitored by the International Emergency Response Co-ordination Centre (IERCC).

For activations in Australia any SOS activation will be immediately relayed back to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) in Canberra. They are the government organisation responsible for all emergency beacon activations (eg EPIRB / PLB) and will then co-ordinate the response and you will get the same level of emergency response as if it was an EPIRB or Personal Locator Beacon.
