Viper 640 class updates

by Charlotte Gwyther on 17 Mar 2014
A fleet of 25 Vipers competed in Miami, USA over the first week of March 2014, first at the Pan American Championships and then later at the EFG Bacardi Miami Regatta.

Warm winds and water, with plenty of sunshine was a treat for the Viper 640 competitors from around the globe, but the tricky winds did not help to build a full race programme. The event was dogged firstly by light and fluky winds and then a strong wind day (with 25 knots gusting 33) to blow away the cobwebs.

Sailing teams from Australia and England made it a full International event and it is hoped that more overseas sailors will participate in future years.

Dinghy Show 2014

The world famous Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace, London, UK was held over the weekend of 1st-2nd March with a full display of the Viper and a promotional video.

The stand attracted considerable attention with many experienced sailors expressing an interest in trying the boat.

Meantime, please can Viper owners express any interest in attending such an event, possibly in 2015.
