Trofeo SM La Reina-ORC Europeans - Discount entry fee rates available

by ORC Media on 5 Mar 2014 Organizers from the Real Club Nautico de Valencia (RCNV) have revealed today that discounted rates on entry fees will be available for this month for the Trofeo SM La Reina-ORC European Championship, held over July 1-6, 2014. The discount offer is hoped to help get early commitments from the fleet, which is expected to have 25% of its entries from outside the host country Spain.

This regatta is one of the most important sailing events in the country, which has always had the support of SM The Queen, the Royal Family and the highest hierarchy of the Spanish Armada. Valencia also has ideal weather conditions for sailing competitions and both the RCN Valencia and the city have extensive experience in organizing large sailing events.

'We are confident that this fee reduction will act as a catalyst for all those who were already planning to participate to confirm their attendance,' said Pedro Quiroga, sporting director of RCN Valencia. 'And we think this will certainly serve to attract other participants as well.' Last year's ORC European Championships held in Sandhamm, Sweden was the largest yet, with participation of 60 boats from eight different countries.

The XVI Trofeo SM La Reina - ORC European Championship 2014 - Tribute to the Navy Regatta - XXVII Copa Almirante Sánchez- Barcaíztegui is organized by the Real Club Nautico de Valencia (RCNV), the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV) and the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC), with the collaboration of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community (FVCV).
