The Crewsaver Abersoch Dinghy Week is on the horizon and for those of you who are keen to plan your sailing calendar for the 2014 season, you can now enter online.

Online entry is only minutes away with the click of a button you could be all booked up for the must do family event of the season. Enter now to take advantage of our fantastic early bird discount, non members can save up to £66! We accommodate all types of dinghies ranging from Optimists to 49ers.

Once online entry is complete, you will be welcomed with a beach pass along with tidal information for the week and directions on how to access the beach to launch your boat.

Abersoch Dinghy Week runs from the 20th - 25th July, registration opens in the clubhouse from 10.00 to 12.00 and 14.00 to 18.00 hrs on Saturday 19th and 08.00 to 10.00 hrs on Sunday 20th. Briefing will be in the Clubhouse on Sunday 10.00 hrs for morning classes and 12.00 hrs for afternoon classes.

The start of the first race will be on Sunday 20th July at 11.00hrs. All other race days start at 10.00 hrs. Afternoon races start 14.00 hrs on all race days.

South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club has also teamed up with the International Optimist Class Association to provide racing each afternoon along with two mornings of Optimist Training with a racing coach. There is a full social programme which include Dinghy Week’s favourite band Elephant Juice who will be performing on two nights. There will be a Stand up Paddleboarding competition one evening and also a Quiz Night.

Those of you returning to Abersoch to take part in the Crewsaver Abersoch Dinghy Week will know that the golden sandy beach and the bar looking over the bay to have that post race tipple awaits you. For those of you who have never experienced Dinghy Week it is one of the ‘must do’ events of the year. Last year attracted over 200 entries which makes this one of the largest dinghy sailing events in the UK. For the ultra-keen sailors there is the opportunity to sail in the morning and afternoon!

For the non-sailors there is the fantastic beach to enjoy and the facilities of the Clubhouse to soak up the stunning views of the bay.

Prize giving will be on Friday 25th July at 5pm and Crewsaver, title sponsors for the event have enabled us to offer some fantastic prizes for all the winners, including products from their brand new Phase2 dinghy range, not to mention goodies and promotions for all throughout the event!
