Sunshine prevails for Couta Boats at the Gant Portsea Cup

Photographer, Alex McKinnon, was out on the water again for the Mornington Peninsula's iconic Couta Boats. The Gant Portsea Cup sees the vessels complete a classic Olympic course and with plenty of tide running, choosing the lay line with one of these centreboard classics, always becomes a bit of fun. No broken bowsprits this time out, but a broken gaff put paid to Pearl's desire to race and they were heading home before the start. Former Yachting Australia President and genuine card, Andrew Plympton, got proceedings away this morning with current YA President, Matt Allen and Supercoach, Victor Kovalenko, both under his terribly unique microscope. As usual, 'Plymo' extracted all the best bits and many a laugh from interviewee and audience alike.
