Winter Solstice is a reminder - make your plans for 2014 Sailstice

by John Arndt on 22 Dec 2013
Summer Sailstice 2013 - here is where they celebrated. Now it’s time to think about Sailstice 2014 SW
Today, December 21st, the winter solstice, kicks off the 2014 summer sailing season and we hope you are out celebrating and getting ready for a great celebration of summer on Sailstice in 2014.

Login or sign up to create your 2014 sailing plans or post your proposed 2014 Sailstice event this week and be entered to win some of our early prizes - the One Island, One Ocean book from Sailors for the Sea, a online class from NauticEd or a gift subscription to Blue Water Sailing. Like the wind you can always change your plans later but it's never too early to start planning your 2014 summer of sailing.

Sailstice is not about winning, it's about sailing. But a few nice prizes can only add to the pleasure. Boat owner prizes such as winch handles, photo prizes such as a GoPro camera, best fish prize such as a cooler bag and prize for best restored boat all give you multiple chances to win. Check out the growing prize page to see what you can win just for signing up and sailing on June 21, 2014.

In 2013 we handed out hundreds of prizes - and look forward to doing the same in 2014!

Every year we add new Summer Sailstice stories from around the world and every year it gives us more ideas of how many different ways there are to celebrate. The Sailing Foundation of Puget Sound has already posted their Blakely harbor raft-up and potluck plans for 2014. If you're a Puget Sound, WA sailor you can sign up and join them.
