World Oceans Day SW
World Ocean Day has recently launched an online fundraiser to raise funds to make World Oceans Day 2014 an even better opportunity for ocean celebration and action. Last year there were over 600 events held in 70 different countries - help us take this event to the next level!

We’re trying to raise $20,000 in 45 days and we need your help.

Donations of any size are very much appreciated and truly do bring us closer to hitting our goal. Please, donate what you can and share this campaign with your friends, families and co-workers.

Thank you so much for your support! With your help, our campaign will be successful.

About World Oceans Day:
World Oceans Day is people-powered!

June 8th is World Oceans Day - when thousands of people around the world celebrate and take action to create a healthier ocean for everyone. Last year's World Oceans Day again was an inspiring experience. People around the world came together and took action for the ocean’s healthy future in a big way, with over 600 events in 70 different countries, held by aquariums, zoos, schools, businesses, local governments, moms, surfers, and so many more. These are people are reaching out in their own communities to do something to help protect the ocean and what it does for each one of us.

These events don't just happen on their own! World Oceans Day is a truly grass-roots effort, thanks to the hard work of many dedicated people all over the globe.

With hundreds of events last year that reached 1 million on Facebook and more than 55,000 on Twitter - all on a shoestring budget - we're ready to do our part and make it a global rallying point for taking better care of our ocean planet.

While our actions on our own may seem inconsequential, together, collectively, we can and are making a real difference. Help us make World Oceans Day 2014 even bigger and better around the world. 'Together we have the power to protect the ocean!'

Earth is 70% ocean, yet we often focus 100% on land. Meanwhile the ocean, and the vital role it plays in human life, faces serious threats: massive overfishing, rampant plastic pollution, ocean acidification, climate change, and more. What will future generations inherit from us? Our hope is a healthy, thriving ocean that continues to connect people everywhere – from every country, culture, and creed across the planet.
