Antigua Sailing Week announce official sponsors

Antigua Sailing Week is the longest running regatta in the Caribbean catering for a huge variety of yachts and competitors. The 47th Edition of Antigua Sailing Week will take place from April 26 to May 2, 2014.

Antigua Sailing Week is delighted to announce two official sponsors for the 2014 edition of Antigua Sailing Week.

Antigua and Barbuda Ship and Yacht Registry will once again be an Event Industry Partner of the Caribbean's longest running regatta. The Antigua and Barbuda Department of Marine Services and Merchant Shipping (ADOMS) is the Maritime Administration of Antigua and Barbuda, operating a maritime registry offering the option to boat owners of registering their boat in Antigua and Barbuda and flying the flag worldwide.

'We are very proud of the name that Antigua Sailing Week has internationally, the regatta flies the flag for Antigua & Barbuda and we want to continue to be a part of the event, which showcases Antigua and Barbuda's yachting industry and our beautiful islands as a wonderful destination for yachts and visitors to our shores,' commented Katarina McGhie, Head of International Maritime Policy & Business Development. 'Besides promoting Antigua and Barbuda internationally, Antigua Sailing Week has many values that we share, especially the provision of a high level of service for a huge variety of yachts from both the Caribbean and overseas.'

For the first time, The American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine will be an Official Industry Sponsor of Antigua Sailing Week. The AUA College of Medicine is recognised by the New York State Education Department and by the Medical Board of California, allowing students to obtain residency positions in those states. The 17-acre campus in Antigua is right on the ocean and many of its students are keen water sport enthusiasts.

'We are proud to sponsor Antigua Sailing Week, Antigua's premier yachting event. Our Antigua Sailing Week sponsorship is part of our continued commitment to contribute to the growth and well-being of Antigua. We appreciate being part of the Antigua community and it is our honour to have our medical school in this beautiful country,' commented Dick Woodward, American University of Antigua Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and COO.
