The 2013 Sail Canada Annual General Meeting and Conference concluded in Montreal, Quebec on Sunday, October 27th after two productive days of meetings, open forums, and breakout and information sessions.
AGM and Conference highlights...
The 2013/2014 Board of Directors as elected by the membership:
President: Alan Lombard
Directors at Large: Gillian Thomson, Kai Bjorn, Christine Searle, John Kerr, Janet MacMillan, Hugh McGugan
Athlete Directors: David Hayes, vacant position
A special thank you to retiring directors at large, Todd Irving and Kevin Stewart for their many years of service and dedication to sailing in Canada.
Leading up to the AGM and Conference, Sail Canada hosted the Athlete Development Committee meeting, National / Senior National Race Management seminar, National and Provincial Coaches meeting, and the Para Long Term Athlete Development session. While the CANSail Instruction Panel met throughout the weekend with agendas focused on both Sailor and Instructor programming as we move towards 2014.
To cap off the AGM and Conference, Sail Canada stakeholders were treated to a riveting presentation by America's Cup PRO John Craig followed by The Skippers' Plan reception.
