Day four at the 2013 49er and 49erFX Championships packed in the most successful day of sailing so far this week. The 49erFX gold fleet sailed four races, each lasting 30 minutes in duration. Canadians Berry and Laventure had a mixed bag of results with the highlight third place in their first race.
'We had a great first race and finished in third! After that, our starts were a little shaky and climbing back proved to be difficult is this fleet.' Team Berry hangs onto 19th with more of the same format for tomorrow's racing. Team Rafuse and Boyd had a challenging day in Silver fleet, sitting 12th overall.
Canadian 49er team Ladha and Inkpen, and Mori and Barnes sailed in the bronze fleet today. When reflecting on a frustrating start to their event, Ladha reflects 'Dan and I are in decent spirits but of course we are disappointed. The next time we see most of these quick Euro teams will be in March so now it's important for us to observe while still trying to get off the line and sail our own race.'
More racing for both fleets continue tomorrow with finals on
