IMTEC on Water Boat Show

Auckland International Boat Show (trading as IMTEC on Water Boat Show) has announced the dates for the new, combined marine trade exhibition and boat show that will incorporate the Auckland on Water Boat Show and IMTEC.
The dates have been set to incorporate the last weekend of daylight saving in New Zealand, and take advantage of the settled warm summer weather, running from March 10-14, 2004.
According to the organisers, the exhibition has been designed to offer the exhibitor and serious boating public 'the best that both of these established shows have offered in the past into one package.'
In the past, the Auckland on the Water Boat Show has been able to offer excellent facilities for large boats to be exhibited within the sheltered Viaduct Harbour Basin, while IMTEC has offered the perfect platform to exhibit marine accessories.
'The new location will provide more exhibitor space than last year's IMTEC for on-land exhibitors, and the water space has been extended to include an even larger on-water Expo of New Zealand's and international yachts, launches and motoryachts,' said the organisers.
'The central location within New Zealand's largest populated city is undisputedly the most ideal arena to stage a marine expo and will become recognised as a premier international exhibition in Auckland City's new maritime stadium.
Both the Eastern Viaduct land area and Te Whero Island will support large marquees that will be fully partitioned and have full exhibition services, and the only entry/exit will be through the large marquee at the start of the Eastern Viaduct, promoting a comprehensive traffic flow through the on-land displays leading onto the marina at the Northwest end of Te Whero Island,' said the company.
The advantages and benefits to all parties are numerous, claims the company, and include: offering the public two shows for the price of one; the ability to decide on a boat and view the engine options and all accessories at the one location; the opportunity to compare more than 100 new yachts and launches on the water; and view a large display of quality used yachts and launches.
For exhibitors, the benefits will include: a substantial increase in the number of visitors; one entry/exit to ensure that visitors view the entire show both on land and on water; a Wednesday trade and major buyers by invitation only day; substantial trade pass allocation for Thursday and Friday to ensure a high level of attendance from quality customers; the opportunity to meet with others within the industry; and a showcase for the New Zealand marine industry, for both local and international suppliers and customers.
