L’équipe professionnelle Realteam met le cap sur Cardiff

Troisième de l’Acte cinq des Extreme Sailing Series à Porto, l’équipe suisse Realteam poursuit son ascension en direction de l’élite mondiale. Prochaine étape au Pays de Galles, à Cardiff, du 23 au 26 août.

L’Acte six des Extreme Sailing Series se déroulera du 23 au 26 août à Cardiff, au Pays de Galles, en présence de huit équipes internationales parmi lesquelles le team suisse Realteam, barré par le vaudois Jérôme Clerc.

Désormais cinquième du classement général, et clairement en forme ascendante après la troisième place acquise à Porto le mois passé, l’équipage de Realteam aborde cette étape avec humilité, mais aussi avec un niveau croissant d’ambition.

« Nous avons entamé la saison avec modestie, en observant les forces en présence et avec le désir d’apprendre et de progresser le plus rapidement possible », explique Jérôme Clerc. « Lors des régates de Porto, nous avons confié la barre au français Pierre Pennec, qui nous a permis de beaucoup progresser. Nous allons poursuivre avec le même esprit à Cardiff, en naviguant cette fois en compagnie de Tanguy Cariou (au poste de régleur de grand-voile). Nous connaissons bien Tanguy, qui bénéficie d’une grande expérience et qui va nous aider à poursuivre notre développement. Nous avons l’impression d’être sur la bonne voie, et nous progressons de manière régulière! »
En plus de Clerc et Cariou, l’équipage de Realteam sera constitué de Bruno Barbarin (tactique), Cédric Schmidt (régleur voiles d’avant) et Thierry Wasem (no 1).

L’épreuve de Cardiff des Extreme Sailing Series accueillera deux nouvelles équipes et quelques grands noms de la voile. Elle s’annonce comme l’une des étapes plus disputées de la saison.

Après Cardiff, la flotte rejoindra Nice, en France, pour l’avant-dernier Acte de la saison 2013.
