David Church from Meirionydd, South Gwynedd has claimed the winner’s prize in the RYA Go Windsurfing! prize draw after purchasing a copy of the new book for his sons.

David wins a one of a kind painting by the extremely talented Go Windsurfing author, Claudia Myatt, who will recreate his favourite ‘on-the-water’ photo.

'We were thrilled when we found out we had won', explains David. 'I first windsurfed back in about 1988, at an RYA training centre at Coverack, Cornwall, but after a long gap, got a board and sails last year in the hope of returning to windsurfing and maybe getting my boys interested too.

'We knew about the 'RYA Go Sailing!' book and how attractive it was, so hearing there was a new 'RYA Go Windsurfing! book coming out, I purchased one each for my sons, to get them interested, and as light reading for me.'

RYA Go Windsurfing! is the seventh book in Claudia Myatt's excellent children's (8-12 years old) RYA Go! series, which is renowned for its excellent illustrations, easy reading style and engaging content.

'The 'Go!' book has certainly lived up to its reputation. It has a lively, bright and cheerful style with plenty of clear illustrations, captions, and instructions', added competition winner David.

The book takes the reader from 'Where do I start?' all the way to a section on starting to race and explains how to understand the wind and work in harmony with your board and rig so that soon you're the one flying across the water whilst others watch.

RYA Go Windsurfing! has been designed to be the perfect book for any child starting to windsurf, whether they want to windsurf fast, clever or just for fun and also ensures they know how to stay safe while out windsurfing. Chapters include:

· Wild about water?
· Sea sense
· What next?
· Amazing windsurfing facts

Bryony Shaw (British Olympic Windsurfing Bronze Medallist), who wrote the foreword, states how she hopes that this brilliant book will help you learn everything about windsurfing so that you can have even more fun racing, doing freestyle tricks or just being out on the water.
