The boating industry is out in force today for Australia's biggest boat Show, the 46th annual Sydney International Boat Show in Darling Harbour which will run until Monday afternoon.

Our team will be out in force at this show, Rob Kothe, our TetraMedia Publisher and Sail-World editor and, Nancy Knudsen from Sail-World Cruising, running the oversubscribed Cruisng Master Class series this weekend, Jeni Bone, our very well connected MarineBusiness-World Editor, Mark Rothfield, our Powerboat-World editor well known across the whole Power and Sailing sector and Jarrod Day our livewire FishingBoating-World Editor will be talking to marine industry heavy weights, event organisers, government, a cross section of exhibitors and lots of the feature show speakers.

With video rapidly become a major news source, the emphasis from our team this year will be on video interviews. We have a video studio on the Show floor (you will find us on the main walkway between Halls 4-5) and a roving video team along with a big support team, behind the cameras, doing sound, titling, video editing and news distribution.

Our video news from the show will be posted on SydneyBoatShow.com.au website, on YouTube and naturally on our own sites.

During the Sydney Boat Show, some 70,000 people are expected thru the turnstiles, but in this connected world, the trade exhibitors will reach a much much biggest world, with news coverage across the major media the internet along with TV, radio. mainstream newspapers. Our own Marine Media group along will bring news to almost 250,000 marine enthusiasts this month alone, with 27,000 readers on an average weekday.

The weather expected today and for the show right until Monday is mostly sunny through the weekend and up to 21 degrees and big crowds are expected this year.

For Sail-World this is this the start of a huge huge month, the largest in the sites history, just the first part of a big 2013-2014. Our coverage of the America's Cup is being very well received, we have a strong team in San Francisco with Bob Fisher, Chuck Lantz and John Navas and Richard Gladwell is heading over to San Francisco soon.

Meanwhile, back at the Aussie ranch, after the Boat Show, we will be heading north for Abell Point Marina Airlie Beach Race Week, Audi Hamilton Island Race Week and SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week.

Looking forward to the Show, please say hi to us there.

Double Double
And the rest of the line is not toil and trouble, but quadruple, then another double… On the eve of the 100th Fastnet that has attracted some 464 entries, I heard of one entry in this record fleet that seemed so very apt. Some thoughts on provisioning for distance sailing
A new perspective on provisioning and time spent at sea One of the great joys of distance racing unfurls the moment that the dock lines are untied. Suddenly, the myriad packing lists that inevitably define most trip-planning efforts become about as relevant as a tax return from eight years ago.
